Best Databases
Start Here!
If you have yet to choose a topic for your research paper, start by looking on ProCon.org. They provide numerous viewpoints for over 80 different controversial topics. Once you have chosen a topic and read some background information, check out the Global Issues in Context and Opposing Viewpoints database. If you click on Browse All Issues, you will most likely be able to find a curated page on your topic. I suggest that you look at the Featured Viewpoints, academic journals, and magazine and newspaper articles. All of the articles in the databases will provide you with the correct MLA citation, which will save you time when you make your Works Cited page. Check out this MLA Checklist to make sure that all of the formatting in your paper is correct. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me!
